Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from the “Old Hill” Vineyard opens with a mild blueberry bouquet with hints of musty wood and licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a blueberry and oak blend with notes dark chocolate and tart plum. The finish is dry and its tannins slowly build up and stick around for quite a while. I would pair this Zin with a New York strip steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Old Hill is a wine that is refined, but assertive. Powerful ripe aromas of mint, cedar, vanilla, and dark chocolate are underpinned by the full fruit character of Bing cherries and black raspberries. This is an extremely alluring wine that is attractive now but, as most past vintages from this vineyard have demonstrated, will continue to get more interesting for many years.
