Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from the Alexander Valley is a full throttle classic Zin. It opens with a red raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a classic Zin with red raspberry jam and strawberry rhubarb flavors along with notes of oak, coffee and black pepper. The Panel also picked up hints mild minerality as well. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors linger and a touch of heat last for a little while. The Panel suggested pairing this Zin with barbecue beef brisket or a peppercorn encrusted steak. Winemaker Notes: This wine is big, round, and berry and black cherry filled, with almost a hint of dill, yet filled with jammy and raspberry characteristics, and a spicy, plummy character.
