Wine Review: This slightly opaque and ruby colored Oregon Pinot Noir opens with a plum and pomegranate bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, slightly acidic, fruit forward and lively. The flavor profile is a ripe red plum with notes of red raspberry. I also detected hints of black pepper and touch of oak. The finish is dry and its flavors are slightly prolonged. This Pinot would pair well with grilled pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: If there could be a textbook example of the 2010 vintage Oregon Pinot, this would be it. Visually, this wine is clear garnet, modestly concentrated. On the nose, sweet fruit like Bing cherry, Oregon strawberry, and Italian plums are kissed with a dash of graphite, clove and cinnamon. The palate corroborates the nose, plus reveals a little baking chocolate. This wine is supple, yet its lightness and acidity keep it conservative and restrained. Decanting now will loosen this wine up.
