Wine Review: This dark red colored Cab based blend from Ramey opens with a pomegranate and strawberry licorice bouquet with hints of red plum and sage. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, fruit forward and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a ripe red plum with notes of pomegranate and mild minerality. We also detected a hint of Chinese five spice. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger nicely. This wine would pair nicely with juicy and thick Kobe sliders. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This soft, easy-drinking Cabernet is a good introduction to the vintage, and while it will improve over the course of three to eight years, it is not a wine intended for long-term cellaring.
