Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Syrah from Ramey opens with a mild cedar and gentle blackberry bouquet with hints of cherry and nutmeg. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is an oak influenced cherry-cola with notes of minerality and earl grey tea. The finish is dry and its lingering pleasant tannins last for a while. The Tasting Panel suggested pairing this beef brisket or frilled leg of lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our Syrahs are grown in the cool climate of the Sonoma Coast which offers a style reminiscent of the Northern Rhone regions of Hermitage and Cornas: aromas and flavors of smoked meat, white pepper, green olive and grapefruit, coupled with a silky texture and savory flavor. This is the second bottling from this exceptionally situated site, which we helped design the layout of.
