Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Syrah from Ramey opens with a smoky oak and blackberry bouquet with hints of wet slate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth with an elegant mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a tasty blackberry and dark chocolate blend with notes of French oak. We also detected a hint of red beet as well. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins fade away nicely. The panel suggested that this Syrah could benefit from more time in the cellar. If you can’t wait, decant and pair with veal milanese. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our Syrahs are grown in the cool climate of Sonoma Coast which offers a style reminiscent of the Northern Rhone regions of Hermitage and Cornas: aromas and flavors of smoked meat, white pepper, green olive and grapefruit.
