Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Chardonnay from Ramey was very well received by our mini tasting group. It opens with an apple butter and oak like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a tasty Bosc pear with notes of gentle minerality and mild oak. I also detected hints of butterscotch. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity roll along for a little while. This Chard is food friendly and would pair well with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Coming from special vineyard sites, our Chardonnays show great depth of flavor, length of finish, aromatic complexity, and a fine balance between richness and delicacy. Typically, the climate is cool, the soil vigor low, and the vine clone, or selection, is one with small berries, small clusters and inherently low yields.
