Wine Review: This Excellent Chardonnay is very impressive. It is yellow colored and opens with a mild lemon and gentle vanilla oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and lively in your mouth. The flavor profile is a delicious mild Bosc pear with notes of finely integrated mineralty and gentle hints of lemon and apple. The finish is dry and its mineral notes and flavors linger and drift away nicely. This is an elegant and very refined Chardonnay would pair perfectly with broiled Halibut stuffed with Imperial crabmeat. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A new vineyard designation for us, Platt was planted in 2003 with first crop in 2006; the young-vine production has been going into our Sonoma Coast appellation bottling. This Chardonnay ripens two weeks later than our Russian River Chardonnays, with a lower pH, and the crisp acidity and minerality from this cool site are quite apparent in the wine.
