Wine Review: This light-yellow colored Chardonnay from Raen opens with a matchstick, grilled pineapple, and lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and elegant. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and light grilled pineapple blend with notes of lemon tea and almond. We also detected hints of faint oak and butterscotch. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. This young chard benefits from some aeration. I would decant it in the near term, to bring out its best. Then I would pair it with baked haddock coated with buttered Ritz cracker crumbs or a crab cake. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This bottling is dedicated to our grandmother Marjorie. Born from the remote, rugged landscape of the Sonoma Coast, our second vintage release of our Lady Marjorie. This Chardonnay hails from the rocky soils of Fort-Ross Seaview, resulting in a wine of incredible depth and vibrancy. White peach, crunchy nectarine, crushed wet gravel and white spring flowers jump from the glass. On the palate, these aromas are spliced with zesty lime blossom, stone fruits, and fresh apricot, which integrates seamlessly with a backbone of mineral-laced acidity and subtle notes of salinity that all lead to a long, bright finish.
