Wine Review: I enjoyed this very light ruby colored Grenache with a group of business friends at Lucca in the North End. It opened with a fresh strawberry bouquet with a hint of red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a spicy and gentle strawberry with notes of black raspberry. We also detected some hints of black pepper and oak mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are pleasant and food friendly. This tasty wine will really appeal to Pinot fans and is a natural pairing for salmon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is the kind of Grenache I like to make because it's the kind of Grenache I like to drink...elegant, racy, refreshing, spice, wild cherries, herbs-de-Provence, citrus and the balance and intensity that should allow it age beautifully for 5-10 years. This Grenache is almost Pinot Noir like in its structure and weight and yet when you smell and drink it, it is clearly classic Grenache!
