Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from Quivira opens with a faint strawberry banana bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, round, and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty plum and mulberry blend with notes of stone dust and toasted coconut. I also detected hints of black raspberry and black pepper towards the end. The finish is dry, and its well managed fine tannins and fruit flavors linger for a bit before drifting away. This food friendly and versatile Zin would pair nicely with Italian beef braciole. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright garnet in color that fades to a light pinkish, ruby rim. The nose is a mixed basket of red and blue fruit. Red raspberry and cherry dominate but are complimented by both blackberry and marionberry. Classic white pepper and nutmeg flavors along with delicate green herbs reminiscent of tomato leaf. This is all supported by delicate oak tones, medium plus acidity and lower expression of alcohol. Overall, a bright cheery and incredibly balanced expression of Dry Creek Valley.
