Wine Review: This dark ruby color Zin from Quivira was one of the hits of our recent big blind tasting. It finished in third place. It opens with a fragrant and attractive black cherry and vanilla oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a plum and black raspberry with a hint of oak and chocolate. The finish is quite dusty and it is very lengthy. The panel would pair this gem with fig spread and blue cheese on a sliced baguette. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The elegant 2007 vintage gave us Zinfandels that have the briary-spicy fruit that Dry Creek is known for, but with a natural balance that seems to defy gravity. A little splash of Petite Sirah adds some base notes along with eighteen months in barrel. While this medium-full bodied wine shows quite well now, the next four to six years will bring only greater refinement. Pork ribs with a South Carolina-style mustard sauce or duck breast with a tart plum sauce would be fantastic matches for this svelte beauty. — Steven Canter, Winemaker
