Wine Review: This midnight purple colored red blend from Quintessa opens with an inviting black cherry and black currant bouquet with hints of craisin, blueberry and mint. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated refined moderate acidity. The mouthfeel is beautifully balanced, very smooth, polished, plush, and seamless. The flavor profile is a complex blend black cherry and graphite blend with notes of black licorice, cassis, and black pepper. We also detected hints of blueberry, clove, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its well-balanced dusty tannins are nicely sustained and long. We would pair this exquisite red blend with Roy's rib roast. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2021 unfolds with Quintessa's signature balance of complex fruit, precise structure, and vital freshness amplified by an especially beautiful growing season. Floral notes— violet and lilac—lift an intensely aromatic bouquet of cassis and black cherry accented with anise, bay laurel, and forest floor. On the palate, firm but fine-grained tannins back dark berry and savory herb flavors interwoven with graphite and iron. Generous texture carries the complex layers to a fine, chalky finish.
