Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Quintessa opens with a blackberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of cedar and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, rich, and bright. The flavor profile is black cherry and blackberry blend with notes of cedar, cinnamon, and marionberry. We also detected hints of black tea and stony minerality. The finish is dry, and its polished dusty tannins are very nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this enchanting and ready to drink Cab with a Brazilian Picanha steak or just sip it on its own. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Like every Quintessa vintage, 2020 is complex, concentrated, and fresh. A core of dark fruit—black cherry and cassis—is wrapped with a swirl of sweet clove spice and savory crushed herbs. Layers of structured tannins reveal the mineral character of Quintessa's terroir in a distinctive year. From aromas and flavors to texture, structure, and sheer vibrancy, the wine is balanced, moving seamlessly into a juicy, polished finish.
