Wine Review: Retrospective Review: This is an impressive wine from a challenging vintage that most folks wrote off. We were pleasantly surprised by the very impressive state of this wine. It is opaque and deep purple colored. It opens with a funky mushroom, dried herb, and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and gentle. The flavor profile is black currant and crushed stone blend with notes of milk chocolate, black tea, and blackberry. The finish is dry and its gentle tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this red wine with Tuscan veal chop. Collectors: If you have this wine is your cellar, we recommend that you drink it in the near term. Ours was showing very well now and did not need any more cellaring. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: An inviting nose of fresh cherries, currants, and red plum accentuate the complex aromatics of crushed wet rock, sandalwood, and clove. A bright and silky entry is immediately accompanied by a vibrant layered juicy core, presenting beautiful elegance to this wine. The finish is lingering yet focused, showing striking definition, balance, and finesse. - Winemaker – Charles Thomas
