Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Touriga Nacional from Quinta do Crasto is Very Good! It opens with an inviting violet and blueberry bouquet with hints of smoked ham. On the palate, this wine is initially medium bodied, super smooth, silky and soft for a Touriga Nacional. Some plus acidity shows up the longer it is open. The flavor profile is a red plum and blueberry blend with notes very fine grained minerality. We also detected hints of red currant, gentle oak and tea mixed in. The finish is dry and its refined round tannins drift away nicely. This wine was built for a filet mignon at your favorite steak house. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Deep purple in color. The nose shows elegant notes of violet with delicate hints of fresh spice and wild berry fruit. Well-balanced on the palate, evolving into a wine of excellent volume, with fine-textured tannins and aromas of violet. The finish is fresh and lingering. An engaging wine that mirrors the unique identity of the Touriga Nacional grape variety.
