Wine Review: This dark ruby colored red blend from Portugal opens with a black currant and old oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor is a tasty black plum and minerality blend with notes old oak. I also detected hints of root beer and black cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with Carolina sweet pulled pork. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark black cherry on the nose with a light touch of spice. On the palate, the wine shows an attractive ripeness initially, with a good freshness and liveliness on the finish. Soft tannins are evident which give this Douro wine a balanced structure and gracefulness. douRosa red is an easy drinking wine to be drunk now or within the next five years. It is a versatile wine that can be drunk slightly chilled and accompanied with lighter style food such as chicken or pork and fish.
