Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored blend from Portugal is a very good everyday wine. It opens with a black raspberry and blackberry bouquet with a hint of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and a little juicy. The flavor profile is a pleasant mild black cherry with hints of black raspberry and a touch of oak and gentle minerality in the background. The finish is dry and there are virtually no tannins. That said, the fruit fades away nicely. This crowd pleasing red wine would be perfect for your summer parties. I would pair with a pulled pork slider. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark black cherry on the nose with a light touch of spice. On the palate the wine shows an attractive ripeness initially, with a good freshness and liveliness on the finish. Soft tannins are evident which give this Douro wine a balanced structure and gracefulness. DouRosa red is an easy drinking wine to be drunk now or within the next five years. It is a versatile wine that can be drunk slightly chilled at (15-16 C) accompanied with lighter style food or drunk at a higher temperature (18 C) with heavier dishes. This wine is perfect with Italian cuisine, white meat such as chicken or pork and fish.
