Wine Review: This dark ruby colored red blend from Portugal opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with a faint hint of licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very juicy. The flavor profile is a plum and blackberry blend with notes of integrated old oak. I also detected a hint of black licorice and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins build up and linger for quite some time. This wine would pair well slow cooked beef stew. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The DouROSA Red 2010 is similar in style to previous years. The wine has plenty of cherry and cassis fruit flavours on the nose, cedar and spice on the palate. There is a good brightness and freshness to the wine despite the hot summer. The wine is perfect to drink with many different types of meals as it has a good equilibrium in tannins and acidity.
