Wine Review: This ruby colored Chianti Classico from Querciabella opens with a mild cherry bouquet with hints of cigar box. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and rustic. The flavor profile is a tart cherry, gravely minerality and cedar blend with notes of black tea. I also detected hints of red currant and black plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate sticky tannins linger for quite a while. I would pair this Chianti Classico with an Italian braciole. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright ruby-red core with a slight purple hue. Aromas of rose, violet, redcurrant cherries and juniper berries with a hint of licorice. Juicy on the palate, confirming the red berry fruits on the nose. Fine tannins that integrate perfectly with nice acidity. Persistent finish with a pleasant, savory note.
