Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State opens with a toasted oak and black currant bouquet with hints of black licorice and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is toasted oak influenced graphite and black currant blend with notes of marionberry. We also detected hints of black tea and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed medium tannins are nicely extended. We would pair this Cab with Stuart’s steak treats. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: The 2019 Pursued by Bear Cabernet Sauvignon marks the 15th vintage of our flagship Cab. Dark berry aromas and flavors, along with undertones of plum and cassis, complement the wine’s elegant structure, impeccable balance, and fine tannins. A small amount of Cabernet Franc, a new addition to the blend, contributes refined notes of coffee and tapenade, and a touch of Merlot adds a hint of sweet cherry. Drinking beautifully on release, it promises to take on added complexity and richness for those with the patience to cellar.
