Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored blend of Cabernet and Syrah opens with a mild blueberry and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a juicy black cherry and blackberry blend with notes of black pepper and mild oak. The finish is dry and its mild oak tannins are a little sticky and slightly prolonged. This tasty wine would pair well with pan fried duck breast with a blueberry glaze. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: At merely 2.75 tons per acre, the grapes for West Face are grown on the steep slopes of Ferrari-Carano’s Look Out Mountain. Dark, concentrated aromas of blackberry syrup, dried currant, black cherry and caramel surround flavors of warm berry pie, butterscotch and earth. This wine has exquisite depth with loamy nuances while lingering, silky tannins providing textural proof of this wine’s ageability.
