Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Ponzi opens with a very inviting and attractive cedar, dark chocolate and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a graphite infused black cherry with notes of cedar and black plum. I also detected some hints of black pepper and a drop of balsamic reduction at the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity fade away nicely. This Pinot Noir would pair very nicely with duck confit. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of ripe raspberry and black cherry are accentuated by crushed Mediterranean herbs of lavender, sage, rosemary and black tea. On the palate, dusty tannins are woven into hints of roasted coffee. Mouthwatering acidity is balanced by almond sweetness.
