Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Ponzi will be a real crowd pleaser. It opens with a pleasant red raspberry bouquet with hints of strawberry and cola. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, juicy and very easy to enjoy. The flavor profile is a tasty red plum with notes of gentle oak and a touch of cherry cola. I also detected a hint of minerality and a dash black pepper as well towards the end. The finish is dry and its gentle acidity and very fine tannins drift away nicely. This Pinot is very quaffable. It will disappear quickly. I would pair it with a grilled salmon burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This explosive nose lifts from the glass with intriguing aromas of sweet tobacco, cayenne and guajillo pepper, graphite and cedar, violets and dried rose petal. The palate is a continuation of the nose with Italian plum, bakers chocolate, black pepper and a prominent spice component leading to fine grain tannins and a long luxurious finish. - Winemaker Luisa Ponzi
