Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Ponzi opens with an attractive blueberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely acidic and juicy. The flavors profile is a red currant and red raspberry with nicely integrated mild smoky oak. I also detected a hint of cola and black plum. He finish is dry and its flavors and gentle acidity linger nicely after the wine in gone. This Pinot would pair well with blackened salmon and wild mushroom risotto. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Spiced notes of fresh nutmeg, dark chocolate, sandalwood and black pepper are prominent on the nose. These aromas transition to cola, vanilla and cassis in the mouth. Plush and juicy acidity, soft texture and black cherry finish with pronounced and broad tannins.
