Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet based wine from Italy opens with a very fragrant reduced red currant bouquet with hints of craisin, rosemary, coconut and strawberry licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and rich. The flavor profile is a tasty mineral influenced red currant, craisin and oak blend with a hint of coconut towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate well-managed tannins and fruit flavors drift away nicely. This Excellent wine would pair well with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: After just a few vintages Sondraia has become a classic in the Bolgheri area, thanks to a style that seeks a powerful profile but with harmony and finesse. Perfectly ripe grapes and painstaking work in the cellar yield a wine with intense notes of fresh fruit and herbs which follow through on the palate, where the wine opens up with great class and silky smoothness. A natural match with char-grilled meats, particularly beef. It is also recommended with osso buco.
