Wine Review: This terrific Riesling from Washington state opens with a mild lime and green apple like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and well balanced with pleasant acidity. The flavor profile is a very tasty mineral infused lime with hints of pineapple. The finish is off dry, tingly, and very refreshing. Our mini group thought this was a fine display of what can be done with Riesling in the state of Washington. We felt it would pair perfectly with chicken cordon bleu or ham with pineapple. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Freshly peeled grapefruit, an appealing minerality, and a hint of ripe pear define the 2008 Poet's Leap Riesling. Bright acidity gives the wine its vibrancy and a clean, underlying touch of sweetness contributes to a lengthy finish.
