Wine Review: This muddy garnet colored Shiraz from the Great Southern region in Australia was very well liked by the tasting panel. It opens with a gentle black raspberry and black cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry and new vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and elegant. The flavor profile is a tasty mild blueberry with notes of gentle vanilla oak and cherry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are well controlled. The panel suggested that this crowd pleaser would pair well with braised rabbit or roasted game birds. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our Shiraz has ripe black cherry and plum flavours with underlying spice and pepper. In excellent vintages a note of violets is seen, as with the 2012. A velvety, textural palate has layered complexity and fine silky tannins supporting the dense, dark fruit. The elegance reflects the cool climate region. A classic Great Southern Shiraz with a long life ahead.
