Wine Review: This ruby red colored Nero d'Avola and Frappato blend from Sicily opens with fragrant graphite and craisin bouquet with hints of red raspberry and oolong tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and savory. The flavor profile is a tart cherry and tobacco blend with notes of graphite and cedar. I also detected hints of red plum and black tea. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for a little while. I would pair this rustic Sicilian wine an Italian braciole. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Cerasuolo is extraordinarily recognizable to the nose that is a mosaic of red fruits and spices. Among the fruits Marsala strawberries, mulberry and pomegranate stand out. The spicy part recalls the East: sandalwood, coriander, and Sichuan peppercorns. In the mouth, the wine reflects the olfactory perceptions and happily discovers black pepper mixed with carob and sweet cherries. A lively palate with a very full-bodied rounded finish with notes of mulberry.
