Wine Review: This dark red colored Nero d’Avola, based blend from Sicily opens with a cedar and red cherry bouquet with hints of pine pitch. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is a black plum and stony minerality blend with notes of black tea and clove. I also detected hints of black cherry and a touch of anise. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins linger nicely. I would pair this wine with a classic veal parmesan sandwich. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Intense and vivid ruby red color. On the nose aromas of currants and mulberries with a final spicy and minty note. In the mouth the wine demonstrates its fine personality with flavors of ripe wild fruit, balanced by a full and grassy taste in a very pleasant way. The tannins are soft and well smoothed thus conferring a very versatile character to this wine. For daily consumption and an ideal match with Mediterranean pasta dishes.
