Wine Review: This light red colored Nerello Mascalese opens with a mild strawberry licorice bouquet with hints of turned earth, black raspberry and forest floor. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a gentle chalky mineral and oak blend. We also detected hints of plum, black raspberry and black tea. The finish is dry and its moderate grippy tannins drift away nicely. The Panel suggested cellaring this wine for a bit. If you can’t wait, decant it and pair it with veal osso buco. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This wine has extraordinary aromas of incense and herbs, hibiscus and wild fennel. The sweetness and generosity of wild fruits and currants merges with the aromas of incense and beeswax and a light almost salty touch invites one to return to one’s glass. The tannins of compact texture are extracted with elegance. A wine whose character can allow the most audacious matchings with dishes of similar character. Dishes with truffles, fish with complex sauces, cheese and salamis are a perfect match.
