Wine Review: This ruby colored Syrah from Long Island's North Fork opens with a plum and spice bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and bright. The flavor profile is a plum, smoky oak and black pepper blend. I also detected some hints of loam and black tea. The finish is dry and its tannins build-up and stick around for quite some time. This Syrah would pair well with a well-marbled steak off the grill. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pindar Vineyards produced Long Island's first Syrah and it continues to be one of our standouts. Soft, bright, and juicy, it has a lightly peppery nose with leather, red berry, and lavender notes. Full, earthy flavors of spice, bacon, vanilla, toast, and oak.
