Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Pina is terrific. It opens with a very attractive ripe black cherry and black currant bouquet with hints of vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and very smooth. This is a gentler Buckeye when compared to past vintages. The flavor profile is a delicious cherry-cola with notes of oak, boysenberry and plum. There is also a little bit of minerality towards the end which leads into a chalky dry finish. I also detected some moderate dusty tannins that are well managed and stick around for a while. I would pair this Cab with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
