Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored Cabernet from Oakville is terrific. It opens with a blueberry and black cherry bouquet with a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, fruit forward and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and mineral blend with hints of blueberry, oak and black cherry. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This Cabernet is impressive. I would pair it this Bobby Flay's Boston butt pulled pork recipe. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2012 Ames Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon reveals layers of sweet ripe fruit on the nose. This wine proffers generous amounts of huckleberry, black cherry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with spring flowers and wet earth. The mouthfeel is soft and supple and is complimented by vibrant acidity on the palate.
