Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet opens with a mild black currant bouquet with a hint of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe black raspberry with nicely integrated mild old oak. I also detected some plum and pomegranate. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and moderate tannins show nice length. This Cab will appeal to readers who enjoy fine Zinfandels or fruity Cabs. I would pair this wine with slow cooked barbecue beef brisket. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2010 Wolff Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromatics of blackberry, raspberry, persimmon and dark plum fruit. All spice, powdered ginger and cardamom lift the nose, adding complexity and nuance. Velvety tannins caress the palate along with layers of sweet toasty oak, forest floor and dusty earth on the finish.
