Wine Review: The carmine red colored Pinot Noir from Pike Road opens with a leather and mild raspberry bouquet with hints of rose petal, red cherry, and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity that settles with some swirling. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and initially a little gamey. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced raspberry with notes of stone dust and cinnamon. I also detected hints of Earl grey tea and red plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors fade away. This Pinot benefits from a little aeration. It is a nice midweek offering to pair with a salmon burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2022 Willamette Valley shows off beautiful dark ruby tones and bright notes of cherry compote, strawberry, and savory overtones. The palate is juicy with vibrant acidity matched with cherry cola, red plum, and hard spices. The finish is nicely balanced with mainly fruit elements, showcasing great length for the price point!
