Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Grenache based wine from Côtes du Rhône is a very good mid-week offering. It opens with a blackberry and smoky oak bouquet with hints of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is a balanced, round and a little savory. The flavor profile is a stone dust and dried red currant blend with notes of oolong tea. I also detected hints of black pepper, oak, and touch of pomegranate. The finish is dry, and its dusty mild tannins linger nicely. This red blend would pair nicely with a juicy bacon burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright deep ruby color. Fresh aromas of ripe raspberry and black cherry with appealing floral notes in the background. Elegance and finesse on the palate with a great fruitiness supported roundness and freshness. Silky tannins and a great length as a final, the whole being ripe and well-balanced.
