Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Philippe Colin opens with faint lemon-lime and pineapple bouquet with hints lychee, baked pear, and almond. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, elegant and bright. The flavor profile is chalky minerality, lemon-lime and juicy pear blend with notes of ginger and almond. We also detected some hints of banana, vanilla, and saline mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would serve this food friendly and versatile Chard with a pan-seared Chilean sea bass with lemon butter, or pan-seared scallops, or with a crab stuffed sole. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Les Chenevottes displays a luxurious fullness and depth derived from high clay levels in soils where it is grown. Elegant and expressive, this wine has a hint of nuts and roasted malt. Vanilla and pear are evident on both the nose and the palate where a bracing acidity is present. The lengthy finish leaves a lasting impression in its clean and powerful feel.
