Wine Review: This pitch-black colored Petite Sirah from Phase V is Excellent! It opens with black cherry and blueberry bouquet with hints of vanilla, oak, plum and black tea. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity and a smooth mouthfeel. The flavor profile is textbook. It is a delicious concentrated blend of dark chocolate and blueberry along with notes of oak and black tea. We also detected some hints of black pepper mixed in. The finish is dry, and its well-managed dusty tannins linger and last for a while. The Panel certainly enjoy this Petite Sirah on its own on a cold winter's night. With food we would pair it with a rack of lamb or veal osso buco in the near term. Enjoy – KWGTP
