Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot from Petrolo in Tuscany opens with a black cherry and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright and fresh. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and tart cherry blend with notes of tobacco and oak. I also detected hints of black plum. The finish is dry, and its flavors and managed dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. I would pair this Merlot with a Brazilian picanha steak. Enjoy - Ken
