Wine Review: This bright ruby colored Chateauneaf du Pape is Very Good. It opens with an attractive red raspberry bouquet with a hint of truffles. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, finely tuned, and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a black pepper infused black raspberry with a touch of old oak and shitake mushrooms on the back palate. The finish is dry and its tingly tannins show some nice length. This wine is very food friendly and rather versatile. I would pair it with chipped roast beef smothered with thick brown gravy over a fat slice of country white bread. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: An intense red colour, very dark. A nose of black fruits, kirsch, lavender, and garigue. Full bodied, very ripe palate with a nice texture and soft tannins.
