Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored red blend from Washington State opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with a hint of boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a tasty oak infused black currant with notes of earth, dark cocoa, black cherry and a touch of cola. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins linger and last for quite a while. This blend is still a bit young and requires some decanting. I would pair this wine with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Since the inception of this Bordeaux-style blend, our 2012 vintage is the first in which Cabernet Franc is its predominant varietal. The aromatics show elevated tones of red fruit and fresh crushed berries with hints of rose petal and oak, followed closely with underlying layers of earth and graphite. The mouthfeel is concentrated but extremely refined and elegant, showcasing notes of Bing cherry and ripe plum on the palate. Enjoyable now; this wine will age gracefully for years to come.
