Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from the Pennyroyal Farm is very good. It opens with a pleasant mild raspberry, blueberry and cola bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, fruit forward and really coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a tasty ripe black plum with notes of mild cherry. I also detected faint hints of raspberry tea towards the end. The finish is dry and softly fades away. This Pinot displays a nice amount of fruit while equally expressing a fine elegance. I would pair this Pinot with a pan-roasted squab with wild mushroom risotto. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2016 harvest was cool and early, and its crop levels were balanced—every winemaker’s dream. True to Anderson Valley, this Pinot Noir is one tasty sip of dark cherry spiced with clove and a sweet violet nose. The wine plays the palate with a lively acidity and cheeky oak finish and its aging potential will continually make each bottle opening a special occasion. It has become our go-to red when paired with succulent game meats or our decadent Velvet Sister. Even better served with both!
