Wine Review: Here is Shiraz that changed in the glass right before out eyes. This slightly opaque ruby colored Shiraz opened with a forward anise and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, it initially was medium bodied, soft and smooth. However with some air, it came alive and became more lively and juicy. It was an interesting and fast transformation. The flavor profile was a tasty black cherry and extracted blackberry with lots of spice and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tingly tannins show a little bit of a medicinal aftertaste. This wine was a bit of an adventure. But in the end it was a fun ride. We would recommend you decant it and then pair it with a pepper encrusted steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The vibrant nose shows fragrant anise and blackberry fruits supported by a waft of smoky oak. Raspberries and smashed blueberries smother the dense palate, its rich, velvety texture balanced by fine, ripe tannins and a spicy oak finish.
