Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra opens with a black plum and black currant bouquet with hints of violets and tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a black currant and stone dust blend with notes of oak and mild blackberry. I also detected hints of black olive, loam, and black jellybean at the very end. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. This Cab would pair well with grilled Angus steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Nose: A complex bouquet full of black fruits and varietal herbs. Blood plum, black currant, anise, and fresh thyme with a glimpse of purple flowers.
Palate: Medium-bodied in structure with a juicy core of ripe fruit flavors. Integrated French oak notes complement the seamless powdery tannins giving rise to a long satisfying palate.
