Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored wine has a lot going for it and with a tad bit more structure and complexity I would have scored it 90 points. Regardless it is a Very Good classic Aussie fruit bomb. It opens with a blackberry liquor bouquet with a hint of new leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very smooth, lush and rich. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry jam with notes of black raspberry and a hint of oak. The finish is dry and its fine tannins are a bit sticky and linger. Pair this fruit bomb with a rack of messy ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Opaque in colour with some purple tints. The Shiraz grape gives the wine ripe, sweet berry and black cherry notes with a touch of pepper spice to the bouquet, whilst the cabernet gives it depth of colour, rich blackberry fruits and soft tannins. The major accent is on complexity and finesse which will develop wonderful secondary characters over the next 5-7 years. This wine has fragrant ripe berries and some chocolate and savoury smokey elements. The palate has a young but fine tannin structure that will evolve with age and is infused with layers of sweet soft fragrant berry fruits which provide great balance.
