Wine Review: This deep purple colored Shiraz opens with boysenberry and black plum bouquet with hints of eucalyptus, vanilla, blackberry, and sage. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and initially savory. It smooths out with some aeration. The flavor profile is black pepper and extracted boysenberry blend with notes of oak, blackberry, black olive, and graphite. Hint of black tea and dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this Shiraz with duck confit or grilled leg of lamb. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Color: Black ruby plum. Magenta rim with black core.
Nose: A generous kaleidoscope of warm-climate aromatics. Black currant, black plum, ironstone, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, cola, and candied cherries. Earthy North African spices: paprika, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, & fennel.
Palate: Always honest, warm, approachable. Chocolate mud cake dense, rich, opulent. Cinnamon syrup poached red cherries. Coconut shavings, milk chocolate... wait, a Bounty bar! Summer plum pudding with currants and crème anglaise. Turmeric, cinnamon, star anise & clove. Sweet, layered fruit with earthy spices. Mouthcoating, with chewy tannins.
