Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley opens with gentle black cherry and red currant bouquet with a hint of eucalyptus, lilac, and chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with notes of medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and delicate. The flavor profile is gentle black currant and oak blend with notes of pomegranate and stony minerality. We also picked up some hints of black cherry-cola and menthol in the mix. The finish is dry and its bold and dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this Cab for a while before pairing it with prime rib with popovers or with a mushroom risotto. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Color: Saturate core, luminous crimson rim
Nose: Red and sweet spice abound, paprika, sumac, cinnamon, rose water, saffron. Red currants, pomegranate. Steely-coolness, ferrous minerality. Dark cherry pie, milk chocolate mousse dusted with freeze dried raspberries. French oak announces itself, cedary and structural, proudly supporting a saturated mulberry and summer berry core.
Palate: So defined, yet so approachable. Silkiness, a gorgeous texture that glides effortlessly across the palate. Succulence, mouth-watering and appetite-inducing crunchy acidity. A fine graphite core confirms the varietal identity. There is power lurking beneath, a dense black fruit drive which is somewhat unexpected, yet most welcome. A confident wine, enjoy now or cellar for a decade or more.
