Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a black currant and graphite bouquet with hints of black cherry, toasted oak and menthol. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced, smooth and velvety. The flavor profile is black raspberry and stewed black plum blend with notes of mild stony minerality and lots of spice. We also detected hints of red currant and oolong tea. The finish is dry and its moderate sticky tannins and a touch of heat are nicely extended. The Panel would pair this Cab with prime rib with Yorkshire pudding. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Deep red colored. It displays Black Forest cake, glazed cherries and dark chocolate aromas (all noted within 2018 Australian Penfolds Bins). Oak doesn't distract on the nose, it is impossible to avert attention from a fruit-derived core. Chocolate coated (flavor) almonds (tannic-texture). Pomegranate-like acidity contributes to liveliness and dovetailed cedary/spicy oak adds to intrigue. Sleek. Silken. Supple.
