Wine Review: This dark red colored Merlot based wine was one of my favorites on my trip to Long Islands wine country. It opens with a fragrant ripe black cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and delicate. The flavor profile is a tasty gentle black cherry and graphite blend with notes of mild oak and blueberry. I also detected some hints of red plum and oolong tea. The finish is dry and its flavors and refined tannins drift away nicely. This wine is showing very well right now. I would pair it with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Estate grown and produced from the best blocks of grapes on the vineyard. Loads of dark fruit, blackberry, black cherry, cassis, vanilla & smoke abound on the nose; giving way to more intense black cherry and dried herbs on the palate. Enjoy now, though cellar aging will be rewarded for 5 – 10 years from vintage.
